Genevieve Backes, better known as Gen, is the co-editor of the newspaper. She loves challenges, hard courses, writing, and reading. However, she doesn’t just wallow in academics. She enjoys discussing cold cases, singing loudly and terribly to her favorite songs, and more often than not will burst out dancing in parking lots and stores. She’s a weird chica, but she wears that label with pride. She loves talking about conspiracy theories, crime, Harry Potter (a proud Ravenclaw), and is an avid watcher of Buzzfeed Unsolved, American Horror Story, and Shane Dawson. She has two Dobermans, Heidi, and Hermione (who she wanted to name Klum), three sisters (two biological and one claimed), three parents (it’s complicated), and is desperate to add a turtle to the mix. She hopes to become an International Law JAG for the United States Air Force.
