“Mockingjay, Part One,” the third book of The Hunger Games trilogy, is premiering this Friday, November 21st, 2014. Since it is the last book of the series, it is being broken down into two movies to maximize film time. The Hunger Games was written by Suzanne Collins, and is a #1 New York Times best seller.

“I expect it to be really intense and action filled,” Kendol Davis, 2016, said.

Like many of her peers, Kendol has plans to see the premiere with some of her friends Friday night.

“I’m just really excited to see one of my favorite books come to life on the big screen,” Brittany Stevens, 2016, said.

Most high school students were in middle school when The Hunger Games novels first came out. This movie premiere of the last book is important to students who grew up reading them.

“I think that the hunger games is such an intriguing trilogy because the audience is easily able to connect with the main characters due to the similarity with them. I also think that the books allow for people to really connect and anticipate the movies,” Jarod Azzarito, 2016, said.

It has been exactly one year since the premiere of the second Hunger Games novel, Catching Fire, and will be another year until the premiere of Mockingjay, Part Two.

“The first movie was a little disappointing. It left out a lot of stuff. The second one was good though. I’m nervous for this one because so much happens in the third book,” Brittany Stevens, 2016, said.

Both movies of Mockingjay have high expectations placed on them by readers everywhere.

“This is a series I really enjoy, I can’t wait to see it as soon  as possible,” Azzarito said
