Girls Basketball Gets Started

Madeline Brown, Staff Writer

On Wednesday, October 21st, the girl’s basketball season officially started.  The coaches and the players have been working hard since the start of the school year to prepare for the season.

“I feel ready for the start of the season. We’ve already been working really hard,” Mady Brown, 2019, said.

One important part of any team is how well the players work together. Basketball requires a lot of teamwork and communication.

“I think we will do good. We just need to remember to talk to each other,” Laney Skidmore, 2019, said.

Being prepared to play in a game requires many things, but one of the most important things is physical preparation.

“The coaches have been working with us in the weight room and when we run our mile to make sure we are in shape,”  varsity player Adryana Quezada, 2019, said.

Another aspect of being prepared to play is being academically eligible to play.

“Our coaches really want us to stay on top of our grades. They don’t want any of us to be failing classes,” Brown said.

The teams have been set for the time being, but can always change.

“We always need to be at the top of our game if we want to move up or else someone else could take our spot or our playing time,”  Hailey Griffin, 2019, said.
